Dunthorpe Traditional Ensuite

Location: Dunthorpe, OR

We took what once was a sleeping porch that was only being used as a makeshift office and incorporated it into the remodel of a very worn-out and dated bathroom to create a French-inspired Master Bathroom.  Additionally, we added a fireplace to the bedroom and upgraded the closet in this Dunthorpe home. Our client spends a lot of time in France and wanted to have these spaces feel like the home they own there.  She also was tired of being cold in this older, stately home thus we added the fireplace and heated the floors in the master.

The highlight of this project was; when laying out the sinks for the vanity one of them landed under an existing window and there was no way we were getting rid of that so we hung the mirror within the existing mirror.  The frames were ones the client already had so we incorporated them.  I absolutely love the Victoria & Albert freestanding tub and even though you can’t see it, we added a coffee station so they can wander into the bathroom in the morning and get their coffee right away.  Additionally, the Anne Sacks marble (now discontinued) floor and countertop are just breathtaking!

Thank you to the team that made this happen. Fantastic contractor Paul Marto, of course, our wonderful clients, and stellar images by David Papazian Photography. Our bedrooms and bathrooms are spaces we seek solitude in and get revitalized in as well.  They should rise to meet the moment and these days, we all know how very vital that is to our sanity.  Invest in these spaces and they will pay you back in huge dividends and hire the right team to make it all happen.
