Northwest Hills Remodel - Phase II

image.jpeg

Location: Northwest Hills, Portland, OR

After previously redesigning and remodeling the lower level of this home 10 years ago, we finally got the chance to remodel the kitchen, principal bathroom, powder room and hall bath along with a refresh of the rest of the main floor of this 1942 home in the West Hills. The home had been “flipped” before our clients bought it and some questionable decisions had been made that really needed to be rectified. Most annoyingly was that the kitchen was cut off from the adjoining dining room and the epic view of Portland beyond. Along with interior changes, the exterior needed to be updated which included a new patio that is inspired by the courtyards of Melbourne, Australia where the clients were expats for several years. This stay abroad also inspired the appreciation of combining traditional and modern design aesthetics which is reflected in the design.

We infused the home with classic details, bold color and pattern choices and the inviting juxtaposition of vintage finds, family pieces and shiny new modern additions. This project is a great example of the magic that happens when the client trusts the design team and the build team. The collaboration all around was as fun and seamless and the results reflect it.
