Full interior decorating for a period home in collaboration with a full remodel and restoration with Arciform. The clients brought only their clothes, some art, a bed, a rug, and some accessories with them, the rest is all new and curated by us in tandem with them and the Arciform team. Portlands historic Irvington neighborhood is the perfect setting for this gem.
The home was brought back to life and its original details were honored throughout the home. We were brought in again, to weave the existing with the new. We love to curate a space and everything...damn near everything was new to this home that we brought in. Using our 3D software that Arciform also uses, we were able to work from their plans and infuse the spaces with our clients’ dreams and desires. They are a couple of the coolest people you will ever meet and have an amazing, adventurous taste that is evident through the juxtaposition seen throughout the home. The one very clear directive that was in the brief was nothing was to feel like a hotel. They travel a ton and didn’t want their house to, in any way, feel like a hotel. That being said, designing spaces where family and friends can hang out and stay the night was really important to them.
Credits: Magic comes from trust and collaboration. Arciform, their designers, project managers, craftspeople, the clients, and us. We all did this together. We all knew when to step forward and when to step back. If you are looking for a project that everyone is proud of in the end, hire the right team and allow them to do what they do. It will be an amazing project.

We partnered with Lord Design to inform nearly every decision for the interior of our home: floor coverings, furniture, paint, window coverings, lighting, decorative items, linens. They managed every stage of the process from samples and renderings, to sourcing and custom-manufacturing, storage as items arrived, moving in, and decorating. Their contributions brought new thinking to our vision for a perfect home—things we never would have thought of but now love. And they probably kept us from making stupid mistakes. Their process and service made things simple and easy for us to manage, and achieve the results we imagined.
When you think of all the little decisions, numerous elements, and the big calls you have to make on things without seeing it all assembled in the end, it’s quite a feat. We’d absolutely recommend Arlene and team, and we’ve come back to them ourselves for more projects.
